- TLT Conference: The Faculty Assembly cosponsors the 2007 UNC Teaching and Learning with Technology Conference, which will be held at the Hilton North Raleigh, March 21-23, 2007. This year's conference theme is Building Connections. For more information, see http://conference.unctlt.org/
- The University of North Carolina Online initiative: The Faculty Assembly technology committee is actively providing feedback for the new University of North Carolina Online initiative.
- Learning Object Repository & Content Management System pilot: This joint pilot project with the North Carolina Community Colleges is currently in the planning stages. It will allow UNC to engage in several exciting directions that a statewide content system might enable: 1) A statewide repository of digital, educational materials or primary source materials that may reduce development costs and provide a platform for better K-20 connections, 2) A mechanism to foster cross-campus, collaborative teaching and research projects or groups through common storage space and workflow mechanisms such as versioning and review protocols, and 3) Best practices for distributing educational or research content to small or large groups while retaining intellectual property rights. For more information, contact Lori Mathis, Information & Technology Coordinator, TLTC
- Trial of Centra online meeting space: Thanks to Saba Centra, the TLTC is offering an unlimited-seat evaluation trial of Centra 7.5 SP1 through August 2007 to all UNC campuses. Any UNC faculty member, administrator, librarian, staff member, or student may participate in this evaluation and testing opportunity. For more information, contact Faith Dabney, Project and Communication Manager, TLTC.
