RESOLUTION ON IMPACT ASSESSMENTS

Whereas, the Faculty Assembly perceives the need to reaffirm to the citizens of North Carolina the positive contributions of the University of North Carolina to the economic and public welfare of individual counties as well as to the state at large; and

Whereas, enlightened legislation requires timely, objective information regarding the impact of the University of North Carolina on the state and its citizens; therefore, be it

Resolved, that the Faculty Assembly recommend to President Spangler that a comprehensive assessment of the economic impact of the constituent institutions on their respective service regions and on the state as a whole be prepared and distributed to the Governor, to the General Assembly, and to the media prior to the convening of the 1996 legislative session.
